My 5 Favorite Places To Shop In Washington, D.C.

I come from a family of shoppers. Growing up, my crew and I would pile into the car and hit three states in one day on the hunt for nothing in particular. LOL! Imagine leaving the house at 10 am thinking you are going 20 minutes up the road and then you end up in New Jersey or Philly. There were no limits to where we would go in order to shop. Now that I'm in DC (without a car I might add), I have limited # of locations I can Uber to, but I still love to shop. I thought I would put together a list of my top places to shop at in/and around the District.

In no particular order…. HERE IT GOES…

Georgetown Flea Market

This Sunday only affair is perfect if you enjoy the hunt & bargaining with vendors. I’ve found incredible deals like a $40 hand-tied rug, an industrial coffee table and a really cute beaded bag.

1819 35th St NW, Washington, DC 20007 (across from the Safeway) Sunday 8 am - 4 pm

T.J. Maxx in Georgetown

If you’re a frequent TJ Maxx and Marshalls shopper, you’ll know that not all locations are created equally. But the TJ Maxx in Georgetown is solid! This is my spot to find candles, bedding, and pet supplies!

3254 M St NW, Washington, DC 20007 M-F

Savers/Unique Thrift Store

This one is, admittedly, outside of D.C. proper. Located in Silver Spring, MD, Unique Thrift is HUGE and a great place to spend a few hours. It’s a treasure trove for anything you could be looking to acquire. I’ve gotten lucky finding home decor (picture frames, glassware, etc.) and furniture (check out my dining chair).

12211 Veirs Mill Rd Silver Spring, MD 20906 M - S

Appointed

This adorable shop in NE is home to some of the best paper products on the market (this is my opinion, but it’s also a fact). I’ve been trying out the 2021 Year Task Planner, but have been a long time user of their notebooks. If you can’t make it to their shop in Ivy City, they offer delivery or you can pick up there products in NW at Salt and Sundry on 14th Street.

1500 Okie St NE Washington D.C. 20002; Currently closed the public. Delivery Available

H&M Home

H&M is obviously not a local store, but the H&M Home store that takes over the back of the Georgetown location is really amazing + the next closest location is in NYC. They have a great selection of bathroom decor, throw pillows and blankets.

3222 M Street Northwest 20007 Washington, M-S
