The Nearest Café Cocktail

Do you remember how good Mad Man was in the early seasons?
I’ve been rewatching the series about advertising giants in the 1950s and was instantly transported by the writing, the fashions, and, yes… the cocktails… The sound of Don Draper ordering a drink was so sexy, I immediately wanted to bring that feeling into my home! So, with the help of my friend and expert bartender, Nicholas, let me introduce you to the Nearest Café!
This love child between an Old Fashioned and an Espresso Martini is delicious! And that’s saying something because I’m not a huge fan of coffee - green tea all day, baby! So let’s get into the recipe…
Ingredients
2 oz 1856 Uncle Nearest Premium Whisky
0.5 oz Vanilla Liqueur
0.5 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur
1 dash of Angostura Aromatic Bitters
1 dash of Fee Brothers Orange Bitters
Directions
Add all ingredients and ice into a mixing glass
Stir for 30 revolutions
Strain into a rocks glass over a big ice cube
Garnish with a flaming orange twist
Express the orange twist into the flame for increased aromatics
Enjoy!
