Watching my Elfa custom space come together (saved to this highlight) inspired me to pull the trigger on a desk for my home office, but in doing so, I uncovered a furniture conspiracy! After I let go of the idea of a sit/stand desk, I found this simple and modern desk (above) on CB2 for $179. That’s a good price for a desk, but I wanted to look around a bit more just to see what else was out there and I’m glad I did! Wayfair and Amazon had the same exact desk for $119, and since I had an Amazon gift card, I ended up only paying $99, a steal! Since I purchased, the price on Amazon has jumped to $139, so if you like, purchase from this link on Wayfair. They have the exact same measurments and very similar descriptions. The only place they differ is in price. When shopping for furniture, always do a reverse Google image search before making your purchase. Simply upload the image of what you want to buy here, and let Google scouer the internet to see if its selling somewhere else for cheaper. Most of the furniture at a big-box store is whitelisted, meaning a manufacturer makes the piece, sells it to multiple stores, and those individual retailers style and price the item however they like. For example, the same light at Target can be sold at Walmart, Urban Outfitters, and Wayfair, all for different prices. So do your Googles and save yourself some money!
