3 Reasons To Buy The IKEA Färlöv Sofa
Once upon a time, I was in couch hell. For two long years, I lived with an uncomfortable and cheap couch in the most depressing shade of grey! I was unhappy and in desperate need of a new couch. After reading a blog post by Lydia Ellise Millen, I decided I had to take her lead and purchase the Ikea Färlöv Sofa in Velvet Green! And let me tell you… I was not disappointed. Priced at $899 (I paid a little over $1000 with taxes + shipping), this is one of my best purchases of 2021.
Here are my top 3 reasons why you should add this to your home ASAP!
She’s Deep
Having a studio apartment does not stop me from inviting over guests… and I need a place for them to sleep. With a seat depth of 25 1/4” and seat width of 75 1/4”, I can comfortable stretch my 5’ 2” body out and have enough room for Sal to lay next to me. It’s not just me - all of my recent house guests have enjoying sleeping on this baby!
Machine Washable/Removable Cover
I’m messy af. I spill things, I eat on my couch and my dog has no sense of boundaries - needless to say, I needed something durable and easy to clean. The cover on the Färlöv sofa is removable and machine washable! I’ve washed the cover and the pillow cases twice and they still look beautiful. That said, do not put this in the dryer. Let it air dry and use a steamer to get rid of any wrinkles.
COLOR
Have grey couches gone out of style yet? God, I hope so. Boring couches that blend into the wall are ugly and I’m so over it. I wanted a bold, yet dark color that I woould’t have to spot cleaning everyday and I must say… I love it! This velvety green slip cover hit all my needs. It provides much needed color to the room, easily hides water spills
The Ikea Färlöv Sofa is available in Grey, Dark Grey and White
Before I get on out of here, I thought I should tell you what it was like to put this thing together. I’m not gonna lie - IT WAS HARD AF! I think I made it more difficult on myself by trying to put this thing together alone, but I got it done. The guide clearly states that two people should do this together, but due to the it global pandemic, I didn’t want to invite anyone over. I did it alone and I would not recommend. If you can, splurge for a Task Rabbit to come put it together for you or ask a friend.
