3 Ways Taskrabbit Makes My Life Easier and My Studio Apartment Look Better

THIS POST IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TASKRABBIT

My apartment is going to be in The York Times! AHHHHHH!

Pause for dramatic effect…

And as luck would have it, just one day before the photo shoot, I booked a Tasker through Taskrabbit for my quarterly deep cleaning! You can say my timing is impeccable. But this sequence of events got me thinking about all the times Taskrabbit has come through to make my life easier and my apartment looks better. So, let me tell you about it…

Taskrabbit is an app that makes everyday life easier by connecting you with skilled and reliable Taskers to help with everything from house cleaning to home repairs and errands.

Mounting and More…

The first time I hired a Tasker through Taskrabbit, I made a rash decision to makeover my galley kitchen. I painted the space the perfect moody pink and added open shelving in the kitchen to hold my vintage canisters and all the glassware and plates I use daily

I came across Michael C.! In under two hours, he completely changed the look of my space and managed to mount my TV too… What a guy!

Taskrabbit makes it easy for me to hire Michael repeatedly by allowing me to mark him as a FAVORITE, so I’ll never lose his contact.

Oh! And all the payment details (including tipping) can be done in the app, so I always have to stay in and grab cash.

Say Bye Bye To Boring Lights!

Lighting is an excellent investment - it’s a simple upgrade, and you can take it with you when you move out. So when I got tired of my old living room fixture, I called in Vander T. to install the Alyssa Semi Flush from Mitzi

I love DIY projects, but I fear electrical work, so I’ll always hire a Tasker to take care of these jobs. But what I loved most about Vander was his ability to make it work! As Tim Gunn would say! Before he arrived, I told him that my ceilings were plaster, so he would need to come prepared with the right supplies. But, I did not expect the medallion I selected to be slightly too small for the new light fixture canopy.

It was no issue for Vander, though. He whipped out a tool, shaved off an inch or two, and returned to install the new flush mount. All while giving me some advice about being more comfortable with electrical projects.

Clean Me… Please!

I'm saving money for my new apartment, so I'm no longer doing the bi-weekly cleaning service, but having someone come in for a quarterly deep clean is essential. It's a great way to get the significant time suckers like windows, inside the oven, baseboards, and more, while I manage the weekly spruces on my own!

This time, I hired Esther D., an Elite Tasker! Elite Taskers are a class of highly-rated, consistently booked folks who maintain a rating of 98% and above!

House cleaning is tough to hire because what's 'clean' for you might be something other than 'clean' to me. Plus, a level of vulnerability comes with allowing someone to see your space at its worst.

BEFORE

AFTER

When looking for a cleaning person, I read reviews carefully - looking for words like "detail-oriented" and "thorough." I expected this cleaning to take four or more hours, but Ester D. got it all done in about three hours. She was incredible!

By the way, I don't subscribe to the "clean before the cleaners come" mindset, so enjoy this beautiful image of my trash overflowing and my dishes piling up! But, sometimes, it's just like that, you know!

I've been a loyal user of Taskrabbit for many years and will continue to do so because I will always be a person who puts investing in their happiness above all!

As my time at this apartment (hopefully) ends, I can't wait to bring Michael, Vander, and Ester to help return it to its original state. Maybe, I'll even get my security deposit back.

xoxo,

Imani
