10 Products I Use To Clean My Studio Apartment
Do you like cleaning?
I don't mean the feeling of walking around a spotless apartment while a Black Fig + Olive candle burns in the background... No, no. I'm talking about leaning over your tub with a Clorox scrub brush with the faint smell of bleach lingering in the air. Do you enjoy that?
Some people do, and I need to know if you walk amongst us - show yourselves in the comments.
I don't count myself amongst those ranks, which is why I paid $300/per month for a professional cleaning service. That was, by far, the best money I've ever spent! But, since I've decided to upgrade my apartment in 2023, I need to start saving money, and that was one area that had to go. BUMMER!
I won't say I "enjoy" cleaning because that's a lie, and I would never lie to my Homies! But, I have found a few products that make this necessary task much more manageable. So, for this week's Imani's Home Favorites, I'm sharing a few of my fave cleaning products. Enjoy!
xoxo,
Imani
Clorox Extendable Pole Tub & Tile Scrubber - $17
My lower back will no longer allow me to bend over and scrub my tub, so I invested in this extendable pole with a scrubber at the end to make it easier. One pad lasts 3-4 aggressive cleans, and refills are $6.
Microban 24-Hour Bathroom Cleaner and Sanitizing Spray - Fresh Scent - 32 fl oz - $5
Erin of @theesperanazamaria inspired me with her cleaning routine, and I've been hooked ever since. This cleaner cuts through stains left behind by my self-tanner and doesn't have a harsh odor lingering around.
Method Squirt + Mop Hardwood Floor Cleaner, Almond - $14
Smells fantastic and leaves my floor looking shiny and beautiful. No need to wipe this up after; just squirt, mop, and go! I use it with the Bona Microfiber Mop which has a machine-washable cleaning pad!
Dawn Power Wash - $10
Is it weird to be obsessed with dish soap? If it is, IDC… I don't have a dishwasher, so I needed something to cut through grease and make washing dishes easier. Having decent non-stick pans helps too.
The best dish sponge ever. PERIOD!
O-Cedar PowerCorner Pet Pro Broom with Step-On Dustpan - $16
Sweeping your rug is a great way to work out your arms and clean simultaneously + this broom has little teeth on the dustpan to clean between the bristles, which helps it last longer.
Shark Steam Pocket Mop - $88
A steam mop does wonders in cleaning up tiled floors in an old apartment. - much more than hot water + mop combo. Don't use this on peel-and-stick tiles or hardwood floors, though
Simplehuman 45 Liter Step Trash Can - $140
My Homies on IG convinced me to buy this expensive ass trashcan, and I'm glad they did. It holds in smells, a must-have in a small apartment, and the matching trash bags are heavy-duty bags that stand up to broken glass and attacks from my dog.
Barkeepers Friend - $2.13
Nothing keeps my stainless steel sink shining like barkeepers!
Casabella Small WaterBlock Gloves - $9
Living without a dishwasher is hard, but I refuse not to have bomb acrylic nails, so I searched for gloves that were small enough to fit my hands, and these are it! They have been in my routine for three years.
